Andre Gabriel Rabette, 81, of Wapakoneta, passed away 10:05 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Wapakoneta Manor with his loving family at his side. He was born March 22, 1945, in Chambon S/Voueize, France, the son of the late Louis and Francoise (Guisepone) Rabette. On July 25, 1970, he married Mary Ann Armaly, and she preceded him in death on February 12, 2026. Survivors include, 2 daughters, Michele J. Wolke, Wapakoneta Nicole G. (Doug) Palcic, Centerville, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Alexis) Rabette, Connor Sterling, Kherington Wolke, Taylor (Dylan) Kuehl, Nicholas Wolke, Ashley (Jack) Pizzuro, and Justin (Mindy) Palcic; 9 great grandchildren, Graham, Scarlett, Jonathan, Jenna, Julianna, Jaxon, Jacen, Michael, and Kollyns; 2 brothers-in-law, Charles (Barbara) Armaly, McComb, Michigan Anthony (Stacey) Armaly, Wapakoneta. He was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Rita Armaly and Diane Craft, and a brother-in-law, Richard Armaly. Andre retired from the Chrysler Corp. Detroit. He was one of a kind — the kind of man you don’t forget. Gruff on the outside and a teddy bear underneath. He was ornery and stubborn, but those who knew him best also knew the depth of his love and loyalty. He was a brave man who left his family and homeland in France to build a new life a world away. That journey took courage, sacrifice, and determination. Everything he did, he did for the people he loved. His love for his family was unwavering. It was in the sacrifices he made, the life he built, and the way he always showed up when it mattered most. Beneath his rough edges was a man with a huge heart — protective, generous, and deeply devoted to those he loved. He leaves behind a family who will miss his stubborn spirit, and the unmistakable presence he brought into their lives. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the love he gave, the lessons he taught us, and the memories that will stay with us forever. He is finally where he has wanted to be, back with the love of his life. As I am sure she was waiting for him with open arms. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 20126, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Fr. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the funeral home.
