Clarence M. Berres, 93, of The Gardens, Wapakoneta, died 9:17 a.m., Wed. Feb. 18, 2009, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, OH. He was born May 15, 1915, in Delphos, OH, the son of Frank & Barbara A. (Kimmet) Berres, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 22, 1941, he married Marie M. Pohlman, who died Oct. 18, 1996. Survivors include, 5 daughters, Mary Schumann, Jane (Richard) Scheblo, Rita (Dan) Heitkamp, Dorothy (Dan) Brown, all of Wapakoneta, OH, Barbara (Forrest) Henson, Jr., Houston, TX, 15 grandchildren, Lori (David) Anderson, Tonya (Rick) Lenhart, Kim (Mike) Fisher, Trudy (Larry) Chilson, Wendy (Joe) Fuduric, Rhonda (Jeff) Schultz, Todd (Lynn) Schaub, Toby (Laura) Schaub, Lonnie Heitkamp, Dana (Amy) Heitkamp, Jodi (Steve) Manger, Stacey (Rick) Jutte, Lindsey Brown, Shaz Butte, & Sunnah Butte, 5 step-grandchildren, David (Thea) Scheblo, Robyn (Lance) Bell, Toni (Mike) Darnall, Jean (Craig) Allison, & Stephanie (Keith) Fowlkes, 31 great grandchildren & 10 Step-great grandchildren,a brother, George (Marilyn) Berres, Delphos, OH, 2 sisters, Sister Mary Florence Berres, Toledo, OH, Veronica Johns, Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Niki Schaub & Andrew Brown, a great grandson, John Fisher, 4 sisters, Elizabeth Hickey, Leona Cook, Florence Miller, & infant Frances Berres. A lifetime farmer, Mr. Berres retired from active farming at the age of 89. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Glynwood, OH, and its former Holy Name Society. He was a former member of the Moulton Twp. Zoning Board, a former member of Farm Bureau and the Farmers Union, a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta, and the NFO. Mr. Berres took great pride in his farming operation with his wife and daughters in the Glynwood area. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and spending time with the grandchildren & great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon, Sun. Feb. 22, 2009, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Glynwood, OH, Rev. Oscar Seger officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Glynwood. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., Sat. Feb. 21, 2009, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Memorials may be directed to the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Joint Twp. Dist. Memorial Hospital, The Gardens at Wapakoneta, or to the charity of donor's choice.
