Cleopha Rose ‘Cleo’ Strete, 91, of Otterbein Cridersville, formerly of Wapakoneta, died 7:15 p.m., Sat. Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born March 15, 1921, in St. Henry, OH, the daughter of Louis H. & Anna (Selhorst) Lange, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 1, 1947, she married Ralph A. Strete, Jr., who passed away Nov. 28, 1998. Survivors include, 5 children, Stephen H. (Janice) Strete, Charleston, SC, Jeffrey A. (Kathy) Strete, Wapakoneta, Charles A. (Patti) Strete, Lakeview, OH, Anthony J. (Lorraine) Strete, Troy, OH, Margaret A. (Dale) Crumrine, Wapakoneta, 10 grandchildren, Thomas (Jillian) Strete, Michael (Dawn) Strete, Andrew(Lacey) Strete, Ashlee Strete, Jason Strete, Alex Strete, Cassie Strete, Brianna Strete, Erica Crumrine & Chad Crumrine, 3 step-grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Stancil, Elizabeth (Brad) Platzer, & Sparky Stoltz, 2 great grandchildren, Addison & Matthew, 2 step-great grandchildren, Justin & Jessica, Siblings, Cyril (Margie) Lange, Ft. Loramie, Leroy (Beanie) Lange, St. Henry, Eugene Lange, St. Henry, Cletus (Edna) Lange, St. Henry, Louis (Martha) Lange, Wapakoneta, Marie Pottkotter, St. Henry, Wilma Dues, Philothea, OH, Rita Schroer, Ft. Recovery, Frances (Lawrence) Gehret, Ft. Loramie. A sister-in-law, Sally Lange, Celina. She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Lange, and a sister, Sister Agnes Lange. Cleo retired in 1983 as a registered staff nurse at St. Rita’s Medical Center emergency room. She was a graduate of the St. Rita’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. Her other memberships included St. Rita’s Alumni Assn., the K of C Council #1272, Auxiliary, Wapakoneta, and the D.A.V. Auglaize Co. Chapter #73. Her hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and attending her children & grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wed. Aug. 8, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Tues. and 9 -10 a.m., Wed. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund or St. Rita’s Hospice.
