Deborah J. Bailey

Deborah J. “Deb” Bailey, 67, of rural Wapakoneta, died peacefully at 6:49 a.m., Wed. Nov, 16, 2016, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born Sept. 26, 1949, in Lima, the daughter of Robert G. & Betty J. (Katterhenry) Keller, who preceded her in death. On March 13, 1976, she married Warren E. Bailey, and he survives. Deborah is also survived by her three sons, Thomas, Todd (Angela) & Tyler (Tiffiany) all of Wapakoneta; her grandchildren, Isaac, Amelia, Anthony, Lucy, Taylor, Ethan, and Maximus, all of Wapakoneta. Other survivors include her sisters, Roberta (Steve) Hengstler and Annette (Brad) Zwiebel, both of Wapakoneta. She is also survived by her nieces Heather Bailey and Lauren Hengstler and nephews John and Grant Bailey, Caleb and Cole Zwiebel. Deb was a 1967 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and a 1969 graduate of Northwestern Business College, Lima. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, where she served 35 plus years as a Sunday School teacher touching many young lives. She worked in the accounting department at Airstream Inc., Jackson Center for 10 years. She also worked many years with her husband Warren on the family farm. Deb very much enjoyed scrapbooking, and doing scrapbooks over the years for many different young people. She also loved playing cards with family and friends. Deb also loved travelling, having been in 48 of our 50 states, and 14 different countries. The last 6 winters in Florida were very enjoyable entertaining family and friends and sharing her love for the beach and the gulf. She especially loved being with her family, children and all her grandchildren. Deb will be remembered for her warm, caring, and kind heart and will be deeply missed. A celebration of Deb’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m., Sat. Nov. 19, 2016, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Becky Sunday officiating. Burial is to follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Fri. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta, and 1 hr. prior to the service, Sat. at the church.
