Eunice Maxine "Mac" Dardio

Eunice Maxine "Mac" Dardio, 100, formerly of S. Wentz St., Wapakoneta, died Fri. evening, June 27, 2008, at Wapakoneta Manor, where she had resided for the past 2 years.� She was born June 17, 1908, in Auglaize Co., the daughter of Eldon & Daisy (Zerkel) Shappell, who preceded her in death.� On Aug. 3, 1929, she married Howard A. "Dick" Dardio, and he died �July 3, 1980. Survivors include, a daughter, Patricia (Virgil) Schweitzer, a son, Larry (Carmen) Dardio, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Dardio, all of Wapakoneta, 12 grandchildren, Gregg (Tracey) Schweitzer, Jamestown, ND, Kurt (Bonnie) Schweitzer, Saline, MI, Christina (Peter) Shaffer, Brownstown, MI, Desiree (Stacy) Wills, Grove City, OH, Daniel (Dr. Karri Krendl) Dardio, Spencerville, OH, Cinda (Mark) Van Atta, Ada, OH, Bill Dardio, Terri(Michael) Ritchie, Pamela (Kevin) Ralston, and Julie Cockerell, all of Wapakoneta, Mark Dardio, Portland, OR, & Lori (Joe) Johnson, Mason, OH, 25 great grandchildren, Paul (Dawn), Scott, and Kimberly Schweitzer; Joel & Sarah Schweitzer; Eric, Claire, & Allison Shaffer; Caroline, Karlton, Leigh, & Christopher Dardio; Nicole (Nathan) Benline; Alicia, Andy, and Angela Van Atta; Melissa Papich, and Bob Kilgour; Emily and Noah Ritchie, Joshua, Jared, & Jacob Cockerell; Andrew and Adam Johnson; 3 great great grandchildren, James Benline, Benjamin Van Atta, & Mallory Stevic, a brother, Robert (Betty) Shappell, and a sister, Marjorie �Place, both of Buckland.� She was preceded in death by a son William, a grandson, Matthew Dardio, 2 brothers, Adrian & John Shappell,� and 2 sisters, Evadna Huebner and �Helen Frazier. Eunice was a homemaker and had worked at the Westinghouse Corp., Lima for 30 years.� She spent many years fishing at Indian Lake.� During her retirement years, she enjoyed china painting, ceramics, and all types of needlework. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wed. July 2, 2008, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Pastor Greg Roberts officiating.� Burial is to follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.� The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Tues. at the funeral home.� Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wapakoneta Manor Activity Fund or the charity of the donor's choice.
