Glen Michael Krites

Glen (Mike) Michael Krites, 67, of Cridersville, passed peacefully Saturday evening, March 30, 2024, surrounded by his family at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born March 24, 1957, in Lima, the son of Glenn & Hannah (Holtzapple) Krites, who preceded him in death. Mike leaves behind his partner Lorna Springer, his daughter Kristy (Mike) Vondran, his son Caleb (Megan) Krites, and Lorna’s children, Janet (Troy) Bible, Frances (Jeanna Bakies) Springer, Randall Springer, and Sandy (Jacob) Zwiebel, Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Brady, Cade, Ronan, Elias, Jude, Fiona, Chance (Lilly) and their 2 children, Victor and Marilee, Carson, Lucy, and Jackson; Mike’s siblings, Carl Krites, Wapakoneta, Eric (Lori) Krites, and Becky (Earl) Burnfield, Mendon, OH, and several grand dogs. Mike retired as an operator in 2023 from Cenovus of Lima after 33 years of service. A 1975 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, he was a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the the Shawnee Long Rifle Club and Sabres Shooting Assn. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking, restoring firearms, shooting, and cooking. He loved to travel out west for hunting trips, sightseeing and stopping at local places (especially if featured on Triple D) along the way. Mike would help anyone he could, and did so without needing any recognition. He was an avid shooter and won many competitions. Although he never bragged about them, he received many plaques & medals over the years for his marksmanship. Mike loved the Lord and tried to live his life in such a way that would make his parents and kids proud; and he did just that. Mike received wonderful care from The James Cancer Center, Lima Memorial Health System and Roselawn Manor. The family would like to thank the caring staff at each facility for allowing them extra time with him. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be 6:00 p.m., Thurs. April 11, 2024, at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 25 E. Auglaize St., Wapakoneta, with Pastor Kent Place officiating. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m., Thurs. April 11, at the Eagles Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider making a memorial contribution to the Deb’s Dogs.
