Harvey L McCune

Harvey L. McCune, 76, of Wapakoneta, died 8:40 p.m., Tues. Aug. 29, 2017, at his home with his family at his side. He was born June 14, 1941, in Lima, the son of Henry E. & Margarite E. (Dobie) McCune, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 5, 1967, he married Susan M. Stuckey, and she survives. Other survivors include, 4 children, Edward (Amy) McCune, Wapakoneta, Scott (Lisa) McCune, Huber Heights, OH, Christina (Daniel) Ault, Wapakoneta, Andrea (Chris) Cotterman, North Hollywood, CA, grandchildren, Falon McCune, Mason Ault, Cameron Ault, Alaina Ault, & Ethan McCune, step-grandson, Levi (Katrina) Cecil, step-great grandchildren, Cooper & Gracelynn Cecil, silbings, Clyde (Mary Lou) McCune, St. Marys, OH, Marjorie Petty, Florence, KY, David McCune, Kettlersville, OH, Garry McCune, Wapakoneta, Beverly (Gary) Breitigam, Lima, Phyllis (David) Rauh, Arkansas, sister-in-law, Audrey McCune, Lima, and his best 4 legged friend and companion, Mia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa McCune, brothers, sisters, and spouses, Kenny McCune, Barbara (Bill) Hall, & Carl (Carolyn) McCune, and brother-in-law, Glenn Petty. Harvey retired from Superior Tube Co., Wapakoneta, and Crown Equipment, New Knoxville, OH. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, where he volunteered his time and talents for many projects around the church and at the church festival. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Harvey enjoyed helping others, tinkering, and “Junkin for Jesus”. He could fix anything except the crack of dawn and a broken heart. Harvey never met a stranger and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Mon. Sept. 4, 2107, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Sun. Sept. 3, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
