John V. Stinebaugh

John V. Stinebaugh, 89, of Wapakoneta, passed away 3:35 p.m., Sun. Sept. 8, 2013, at Auglaize Acres. He was born March 31, 1924, in Auglaize Co., the son of Oscar & Edith (Weadock) Stinebaugh, who preceded him in death. John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joan Cox Earl Stinebaugh. Other survivors include, 2 sons, Jim (Roxie) Stinebaugh & Nick (Peggy) Earl, both of Wapakoneta, 2 daughters, Marlene (Mel) Luttmer, St. Henry, OH, & Sue Klima, Phoenix, AZ, 13 grandchildren, Tony (Dawn) Stinebaugh, Eric (Jodie) Stinebaugh, Chad (Kristi) Stinebaugh, Kris (Pat) Graney, Mona Adams, Tina (Kurt) Vesecky, Valerie Seed, Chuck (Brenda) Klima, Jon (Natalie) Earl, Nicole (Kevin) Smith, Amy (Keith) Balster, Amber Luttmer, & Anna Luttmer, 16 great grandchildren, a sister, Theresa Schipper, Botkins, OH. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Henry Klima, 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Walter (Jean) Stinebaugh, & Herb (Ilo) Stinebaugh, and a sister & brother-in-law, Kate (Virgil) Kohler, and a brother-in-law, Norbert Schipper. John retired in 1986 after 46 years of service with the Stinebaugh Construction Co. A W.W. II veteran, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included a life member of the Wapakoneta V.F.W., Post #8445, the K of C, Council #1272, the former Wapakoneta Elks Lodge #1170. He was a loving husband, father & grandfather. A talented carpenter, he worked on many homes in the Wapakoneta area. He spent his leisure time boating and fishing. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Auglaize Acres for the loving care they provided John during his stay there. Mass of Christian will be 10:30 a.m., Fri. Sept. 13, 2013, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Thurs. and 9-10 a.m., Fri. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund or the Auglaize Acres Special Needs Unit.
