Karen Sue Wheaton

Karen Sue Wheaton, 72, of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of Wapakoneta, Ohio, died Friday October 4th at 1:00 A.M. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. She was born October 4th, 1941 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Lola (Fox) Lowry who preceded her in death. On August 12th, 1970 she married Billy Lee Wheaton who died on June 20th2007. Survivors include One Son: Brad (Annette) Zwiebel of Wapakoneta. Two Step Children: Dwayne “Rusty” Wheaton and Holly (Wheaton) Bays, both of Wapakoneta Two Grandchildren: Caleb and Cole Zwiebel Brothers and Sisters include: Ken (Donna)Lowry of Perrysburg, Ohio, Dave Lowry of Kossuth, Ohio, Ed Lowry of Cridersville, Ohio, Arleen(Homer)Shepler of Mt. Cory, Ohio and Beverly(Robert)Davis of Jackson Center,Ohio. Numerous Nephews and Nieces: Mark(Jennifer),Brent,Baniele,Debbie K. Lowry, Linda(Rich) Emily and Allegra Delman, Lola Nicole(Rich),Mindy, Danielle, Sam, Alisha, Jason, Ashley, Art, Christopher and Hope Lowry, Zach Lowry, Billy (Cindy) Jason, Angie and James Zwiebel. Mike Zwiebel and Eric, Pam (Deron) Kara Sue and Heather DeVelvis, Mary (Charles) Tessa and Aubree Lewis. A Homemaker, Karen did enjoy working part time for Beauty Supply Stores and also for Greeting Card Companies. A 1959 graduate of Cridersville High School. Karen was an active member in the Mainland’s Retirement Community in Tamarac where she shared many memories with close friends John and Marian, Trini, Jennifer, Suellen, Margaret, Michael and many more. She enjoyed traveling back and forth with her son to Ohio where during the summer months, she would watch both of her grandsons play baseball. Karen was a Buckeyes fan, Reds fan and a devoted Miami Heat fan which she attended the debut game on November 5th of the Inaugural Season in 1988. Sports being her first passion, she did enjoy the many shopping adventures she had with her sister, friends and other family. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013 at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Pastor Scott Miller officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Matthews Cemetery near Cridersville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 7th from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Rita’s Hospice.
