Morris R. Knoch

Morris R. Knoch, 91, of Elida, died 6:00 a.m., Sat. Feb. 6, 2010, at Baton Rouge Living Center, Lima. He was born Nov. 24, 1918, the son of Clay and Anna Catherine "Carrie" (Morris) Knoch, who preceded him in death. On April 19, 1941, in Sidney, OH, he married Mary Louise Huecker who died Nov. 11, 1972. In Sept. 1973 he married Agnes Veit Knoch, who is deceased. Survivors include, Florence McClish, Elida, OH, 6 children, Jerry (Pam) Knoch, Karen S. Layman, Kathleen (Ron) Horn, all of Wapakoneta, Tresa Knoch & Mark McCauley, Spencerville, OH, Mary Jo (Greg) Newland, Wapakoneta, Tammy (Paul) Taylor, Pensacola, FL, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, Florence's children, Robert (Mary Ann) McClish, Lima, OH, Donna (Mike) Mooney, Elida, OH, Carol (Augie) Mondragon, Pittsburg, CA, Florence's 6 grandchildren, Florence's 9 great grandchildren, 7 brothers, Clay Knoch, Jr., Uniopolis, OH, Bill (Audrey) Knoch, Uniopolis, Brooks (E. Jeanette) Knoch, Wapakoneta, Ted (M. Jeanne) Knoch, Wapakoneta, Rex (Sharon) Knoch, Uniopolis, Tom (Barb) Knoch, Wapakoneta, Dick Knoch, St. Johns, 2 sisters, Georgia Lee, Wapakoneta, Lucille (Joe) Bell, Wapakoneta. He was preceded in death by a sister, Glenna Horman, a bother Allen Knoch, in-laws, Fritz Horman, Eugene Lee, Francis Knoch, and Joyce Knoch, and a step-daughter, Phyllis Collins. Morris was a US Army Veteran, serving in WWII in the 771st tank battalion. He retired from Scot Lad Foods, where he was a truck driver, and later owned and operated the Jolly K Fruit Farm. His hobbies included woodworking and woodcarving. He was a member of the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post 8445 and Wayne Lodge, F.&A.M. #569, Waynesfield, OH. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thurs. Feb. 11, 2010, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Pastor David Gordon officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. at the funeral home following the funeral service. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m., Wed. at the funeral home, where a Masonic Memorial Service will be 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Equestrian Therapy Program at Fassett Farms or the Summer Reading Program at the Auglaize County Library.
