Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Spencer

Rebecca “Becky” Spencer, 56, of Waynesfield, Ohio, passed away on December 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born October in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lloyd A. and Shirley M. (Slone) Salyer. Becky grew up in Alger, Ohio, and graduated from Upper Scioto Valley High School in 1988. On October 3, 1992, she married her husband, Rodney J. Spencer, who survives in Waynesfield. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and deep family roots. Becky was a proud mother and a deeply loving “Gigi.” She is survived by her mother, Shirley Salyer of Kenton; her daughters, Michaela (Kristopher) Ritter of Bellefontaine and Savanna Spencer of Waynesfield; her cherished granddaughters, Gracelynn Faye Ritter and Corra Elaine Ritter, who brought her endless joy; her brother, Lloyd “Tee” Salyer of Kenton; and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd A. Salyer. Her paternal and maternal grandparents Becky found peace and happiness in the simplest moments. She loved getting lost in a good book, getting crafty with her scrapbooking, but her heart truly came alive when she was with her granddaughters. Some of her most treasured memories were made on trips to Kentucky where she visited all of her aunts and uncles, days spent at the zoo, watching fireworks light up the sky in Belle Center, and driving around to see Christmas lights with the people she loved most. Those moments, surrounded by family, were where she felt her greatest joy. Being “Gigi” was one of the purest blessings of her life. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at New Hampshire Community Church, where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Jon Horn will officiate. Burial will take place at Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire, Ohio. Becky will be remembered for her kindness and the love she carried for her family. Her memory will forever live on in all who knew her. The family respectfully requests no flowers or gifts. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne Township Fire and EMS.
