Robert W. "Shitty" Christian

Robert W. “Shitty” Christian, 71, of Wapakoneta, died 6:10 a.m., Wed. Nov. 29, 2023, at the home of his companion, near Versailles, OH. He was born March 27, 1952, in Warrington, VA, the son of the Charles & Della Mae (Propst) Christian. His mother and step-father, Della Mae & Daryl “Pete” Baldwin, and his father and step-mother, Charles E. & Alice Christian preceded him in death. He was married to Charlotte Theis and she preceded him in death. He later married Maxine Sweigart and she preceded him in death. Survivors include, his companion, Diane Plessinger, Versailles, OH; children, Ryan (Sondra) Christian, Wapakoneta, Brian (Jen) Koeper, St. Marys, Chris (Lisa) Koeper, Grove City, OH, Bill (Nickie) Koeper, Wapakoneta; siblings, Jimmy (fiancée-Vickie Salmons) Christian, Wapakoneta, Marcy (Steve) Christian, Wapakoneta, Wilma Armer Charlie-dec (Mitch Gross) Christian; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Ruth) Sweigart, and Becky (John) Jordan, both of Wapakoneta; step sisters, Holly (Eddie) Davis, Wapakoneta, Marissa (Doug) Lhamon, Myrtle Beach, SC; 7 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimmie Christian. Bob worked 30 years with Frost Roofing, Wapakoneta. Prior to that he had worked at Bohrer and Moore Meats, Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta, and the American Pool Assn. He enjoyed playing slo-pitch softball for area teams including Koneta Rubber Co., Ametek, and LaGrande Pizza. He also umpired softball for over 20 years. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and riding his Harley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tues. Dec. 5, 2023, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta with Jim Sweigart officiating. Burial is to follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Clay Twp. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Mon., Dec. 4, 2023, and 1 hr. prior to the service Tues. at the funeral home.
