Ruth Eleanor Blackburn Arthur, 84, formerly of Waynesfield, died at 8:05 a.m. April 28, 2011 at The Hospice Home At High Point, located in High Point, North Carolina. She was born March 13, 1927 in Crawford County, Ohio, the daughter of Boyd & Bernice (Lambert) Blackburn , who preceded her in death. On July 28, 1945 she married Wilson “Willie” Arthur, who preceded her in death. She had been a member of Union Chapel Missionary Church, Lima and Waynesfield United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include a son Ronald (Barbara) Arthur of High Point, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Adam, Michael (Lisa), and Sarah also of High Point, North Carolina; a brother, Donald (Marilyn) Blackburn of Reno, Nevada; sisters Helen Blackburn of Lacey, Washington and Alice (Wayne) Magers, of Columbus; and several special in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Connie L. Arthur; two brothers, Wayne and Keith Blackburn, and one sister Hannah Lehr. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Pastor Mark Bayliff of Union Chapel Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Mon at the funeral home.
