Barbara N. Snyder, 91, of Wapakoneta, died 4:56 p.m., Fri. Sept. 17, 2021, at Otterbein-Cridersville, with her family at her side. She was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Lima, the daughter of the late Walter & Gladys (Zehrbach) Hofmann. On Feb. 16, 1952, she married Robert M. Snyder, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2000. Survivors include, 3 children, Kristine (Rick) Bowersock, Kevin R. Snyder, and Kara (Blaine) Kohler, all of Wapakoneta, 7 grandchildren, Luke (Jamie) Bowersock, Lindsay (Jeff) Quellhorst, Ally (fiancé Sam Chasnoff) Kohler, Ross (fiancé Katie Baldwin) Kohler, Tate Kohler, Tiffany (Ryan Jolly) Snyder, Brooke (John) Oversmith 13 great grandchildren, Ava, Mia, Emery, Gavin, Tyce, Kale, Claire, Noah, Elijah, Silas, Chase, Preston, Raylin son-in-law, James (Kelly) Walls, Wapakoneta. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Walls, and 3 brothers, Morris, Richard, and Ned Hofmann. Barbara was a homemaker and also worked in the office at Niswonger Chevrolet and also worked as office manager at the Pool Connection. She was a 60 plus year member of the First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta, where she served on many committees, and was a member of the Mary-Hannah Unit where she served as secretary for many years. She was also instrumental in arranging transportation for the elderly to church and volunteered at the church fair tent. Barbara was a member of the Jr. Service League and volunteered at the Auglaize County Council on Aging. She volunteered with the Lima Memorial Auxiliary and was recently recognized as a life member of the auxiliary. Barb also volunteered at Lima Memorial Medical Park Women’s Health Center. Barb loved walking, reading, cooking, and Ohio State Football, but more than that Barb loved people. As a devout Christian she demonstrated selflessness and compassion to everyone she met, even in her final days. There is nothing Barb loved more than spending time with her family, who will always remember her as the most thoughtful, forgiving, and loving spirit to grace their lives. The family would like to thank the staff at Otterbein Cridersville for Barb’s wonderful care during her stay. Private funeral services will be held at the Long and Folk Chapel of the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, with Pastor Josh Tissot officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
