Carol Ann Singleton, 84, of Wapakoneta, left this earthly home and entered the presence of the Lord, at 1:23 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021, at her home. Carol courageously battled multiple myeloma for over 11 years. She was an inspiration to her family, friends, and the doctors and nurses who cared for her. She took each day with strength and purpose. Carol was born July 14, 1936, in Botkins, Ohio, the daughter of Edison & Thelma (Zimpfer) Paul, who preceded her in death. On August 26, 1956, she married the love of her life, Denton M. “Dennie” Singleton, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1992. Their marriage was blessed with 6 children, Tamara (Ed) Danner, Wapakoneta; Lisa (Tod) Chiles St. Marys, Ohio; James “Jim” (Jennifer) Singleton, Wapakoneta; Deanna (Steve) Steinke, Wapakoneta; Melinda (Richard) Otto, Fountain Inn, SC; Jackie (Scott) Retterer, Wapakoneta; 17 grandchildren, Desiree Jordan, Ashley (Chris) Headapohl, Cole Steinke, Dylan (Jennifer) Steinke, Bridget (Matt) Kentner, TJ, Phillip, & Cassandra Chiles, Mitch & Chris Singleton, Rachel Baucher, Tyler (Shelby) Baucher, Emily (Chris) Black, Kyle Metzger, Deacon, Denton, Donavon Retterer, 13 great grandchildren, Quinten Moyar, Dakota & Jaxson Headapohl, Hunter Jordan, Kendall (Buckland) Koby, Kolten Timmerman, Gabe & Abby Kentner, Chase & Cameron Baucher, Isabella, Brooke, & Eleanor Black, Remi & Cameron Metzger, A brother, Don (Virginia) Paul, CA. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, her husband Dennie, grand-babies, Danner & Chiles, granddaughter, Kristi Steinke, great grandsons, Levi Sharp, and Connor M. Singleton, siblings, Jim Paul, Jake Paul, and Betty Wiest. Carol graduated from Botkins Local High School, and worked at Harry’s Paint Shop, Uhlman’s, GC Murphy, United Buff & Supply, and retired from West Ohio Gas Co. after 23 years of service. Carol loved to play cards with her friends. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, where she sang in the church choir, and was a member of its ladies’ groups. She took her children to the Lord’s house and taught them to pray and trust in His promises and His provisions. Until recently, she served on the prayer chain at St. Mark’s. Carol loved having a house full of family. She was devoted to her family, and prayer. Her loving presence on this earth will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Tripuraneni, Shannon & staff for 12 years of compassionate care and, also, Grand Lake Hospice and Molli Frey who helped take care of Carol in her home. The family will receive family and friends 3-7 p.m., Tuesday. March 2, 2021, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, Wapakoneta. A private family graveside service will be held later at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Condolences may be expressed at www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
