Clyde Edward Byer

January 8, 1941 - April 18, 2022

Clyde E. Byer, 81, of rural Wapakoneta, died 7:07 p.m., Mon. April 18, 2022, at the Wapakoneta Manor, with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Waynesfield, OH, the son of Gilbert O. & Nellie Mae (Moore) Byer, Sr., who preceded him in death. On May 7, 1960 he married Arlene F. Kill, and she survives. Other survivors include, 3 children, Michael (Laurie) Byer, St. Marys, OH, Gregory (Elaine) Byer, Wapakoneta, Todd (Christina) Byer, Wapakoneta, 8 grandchildren, Samson (Charity) Byer, Elechia (Travis) Bailey, Ian (Kayla) Byer, Dustin (Summer) Byer, Kelly Byer, Sarah (Philip) Steinke, Chadd (Jaymie) Byer, Kalene Byer, 21 great grandchildren, a sister, Wanda (Charlie) Yoder, LaGrange, IN, numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Bonnie Byer, Sharon Hudson, Wilma Byer, & Zephia Byer, and 3 brothers, Gilbert Byer, Jr., Roger Byer, & Richard Byer, and 4 ½ sisters, and one ½ brother. Clyde retired in 2004, from Ford Motor Co., Lima Engine Plant, after 31 years of service. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Sat. April 23, 2022, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, with Pastor Gary Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
