Dolores L. Ruck

August 20, 1935 - April 7, 2019

Dolores L. Ruck, 83, of Wapakoneta, passed away 9:40 p.m., Sun. April 7, 2019, at Wapakoneta Manor with her family at her side. She was born August 20, 1935, on a farm in Clay Twp., Auglaize County. Her parents were Arthur L. & Marie (Koch) Fisher, who preceded her in death. On April 6, 1957, she married George E. Ruck, who died Sept. 7, 2016. Survivors include, 3 children, Kevin (Meddy) Ruck, Wapakoneta, Jodi (Nick) Groover, Savannah, GA, Greg (Kenda) Ruck, Dallas, GA, 4 grandchildren, Jordan Groover, Lauren Groover, Austin Ruck, & Olivia Ruck, 2 step-grandchildren, Logan Snyder, & Luc Daugherty, and a brother, Marvin Fisher. In addition to her parents and husband George, she was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Heddleson, and 4 brothers, Richard Fisher, Delbert Fisher, Merle Fisher, & Wayne Fisher. Dolores was a 1953 graduate of Blume High School. Following graduation, she was employed at City Loan & Savings in Lima, Ohio. She then worked with the Wapakoneta City Schools for 28 years and later substituted for another 12 years. She also enjoyed ironing for numerous people in the area. Dolores was a life long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, where she served as Sunday school superintendent and helped with the children’s afterschool program. Dolores was a member of the Naomi Circle at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and worked on the kitchen committee and Altar Guild. Since 1960, Dolores was a member of the Ohio Child Conservation Guiding Mothers League. She volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Center, Red Cross Blood Mobile, and was a poll worker for the Auglaize County Board of Elections. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Doug Pretorius officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 17th, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Avenue (St. Rt. 501), Wapakoneta, and 1 hr. prior to the service, Thurs. at the church.
