Dorothy M. Hobler, 83, of rural Wapakoneta, died 6:27 p.m., Wed. Jan. 19, 2022, at Vancrest of St. Mary, with her family at her side. She was born Jan. 20, 1938, in Auglaize Co., the daughter of James P. “Pete” & Bessie (Darst) Wills, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 25, 1959, she married Ned E. Hobler, and he survives. Other survivors include, 2 children, Jeff (Twila) Hobler, Wapakoneta, Melanie (Pat Ewald) Hobler, Wapakoneta; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Garlock, Stacie (Brian) Lucas, Hannah (Justin) Barhorst, Jesse (Ashley) Hobler; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Hemmert, Toledo, OH, Catherine “Nan” Harris, RI; numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Wills, Jim Wills, Richard “Dick” Wills, William “Bill” Wills, and sisters, Phyllis Walker, Janet Clayton and Mary Wolfe. Dorothy was a homemaker, and had worked at the Chalet Inn, Wapakoneta. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, OH. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, gardening, and caring for her geraniums. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tues. Jan. 25, 2022, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta with Pastor Melodi Hagen officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Mon. Jan. 24, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
