Dorothy Marie Ann Leugers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy Marie Ann Leugers, 93, of Wapakoneta, died Monday morning, August 9, 2021, at her home. She was born June 1, 1928, in Moulton Twp., Auglaize County, the daughter of the late George & Sylvia (Dobie) Kupper. On November 8, 1952, she married Arnold S. “Bud” Leugers, and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2005. Survivors include, 3 children, Rebecca A. (James “Bo”-dec) Hayslip, Big Rock, TN, Steven A. Leugers, Wapakoneta, Rosalyn A. “Rosie” (Frank) Larger, Wapakoneta: 10 grandchildren, Jimmy, Tina, Chad, Daniel-dec, Amanda, Kylie (Mark) Tiffany, Zachary, JoAnna (John), Jesse; 15 great grandchildren whom Dorothy affectionately called her “angels”; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Catherine “Katie” Leugers, Botkins; a sister-in-law, Lois Leugers, TX; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, infant Leroy, Robert, & Richard Kupper. Dorothy worked at City Loan & Savings, Triplett, and Superior Tube Company, prior to becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and a graduate of Beaverdam High School. She was also a member of the Stewart County Senior Center, Dover, TN, and the Wapakoneta Senior Citizens. Dorothy was published 3 times in the Happier Magazine, Portland, TN, with short stories about growing up in her younger years. She wrote poetry, and enjoyed gardening, painting, and spending time with her family. While wintering in Stewart County, TN, she and her daughter, Becky, were awarded first runner-up in the mother daughter pageant of which she was very proud. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 16th, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Father Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins. The family will receive family and friends 2-6 p.m., Sunday, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
