Farrell J. Kohlrieser

October 21, 1922 - February 28, 2018

Farrell J. Kohlrieser, 95, of Wapakoneta, passed away 6:34 a.m., Wed. Feb. 28, 2018, at her home with her family at her side. She was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Auglaize Co., the daughter of Glenn C. & Mabel C. (Kies) Hittepole, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Ralph J. Kohlrieser, and he died Aug. 28, 2006. Survivors include, 7 children, Judy (George) Steinke, Darryl J. (Sharon) Kohlrieser, Thomas J. Kohlrieser, Linda Walter, Shirley (Rick) Schroeder, Mary (Mike) Ruppert, Cathy (George) Hengstler, all of Wapakoneta, 20 grandchildren, & 47 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Kohlrieser, a son-in-law, Joe Walter, a brother, Chester Hittepole and a sister, Margene Thrush. A homemaker, Farrell was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg. She attended the Rhinehart School. Farrell was a charter member of the K of C, #1272, Auxiliary; and also an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #330, and the Amvets Post #333, all of Wapakoneta. Her greatest joy was her family. The family would like to offer sincere thank you to Farrell’s outstanding and compassionate caregivers, Elaine, Denise, & Tayler. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Sat. March 3, 2018, at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg, with Fr. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fryburg. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m., Fri. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501), Wapakoneta, where a rosary service will be at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Rita’s Hospice.
