Harry Grubb Sr.

Harry Grubb, Sr., 80, of Wapakoneta, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sun. Nov. 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 8, 1941, in West Virginia, the son of the late Albert and Athelene (Cline) Grubb. On Dec. 7, 1984, he married Karen Burden Grubb, and she survives in Wapakoneta. Other survivors include, a son, Harry Grubb, Jr., Wapakoneta; a daughter, Peggy (James) Mullins, Wapakoneta; a daughter-in-law, Julie Grubb, Wapakoneta. Also surviving is Harry’s best friend who was like a brother, Jerry (Mary) Goodwin, Elida. Harry has two grandsons surviving, David (Sabrina) Grubb, Cridersville, and Brandon Mullins, Denton, TX. He also has 3 great grandchildren surviving, Landen, Makenna, and Taryn Grubb, of Cridersville, who are the loves of his life. Harry enjoyed watching Landen at his football games and bowling, and his biggest joy was when Landen became a Grubb carrying on the family name. Other survivors include 2 step-grandchildren, Laura (Brad) Avery, and James (Terri) Mullins, Jr., and 3 step-great grandchildren, Levi, Elyssa, and Julia. Harry has 3 brothers-in-law surviving, Gary (Beth) Burden, Steve (Tonya) Burden, and Kenny (Barb) Burden, all of Wapakoneta, and 3 sisters-in-law, Sharon Burden, Linda (Burden) Teague, and Judy (Mike) Wenning, along with many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Nick (Mary) Grubb, and Jeff Grubb, and three sisters, Mary (Bruce) Hall, Rosie (Earl) Cline, and Jean (Paul) Nason. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luther and Phyllis Burden, brother-in-law, Jerry Burden, three nephews, Mickey Cline, Terry Morris, and Christopher Burden, and 2 nieces, Judy Abrahams and Brittany Nicole Wenning Harry retired in February, 2006, from General Dynamics, as a pipefitter, after 27 years of service. He had previously worked at the City of Wapakoneta and Fisher Cheese Co., Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Wapakoneta Police Dept. Auxiliary and a volunteer with the Wapakoneta Fire Dept. for many years. Harry loved to go fishing at Lake Erie on his boat with his family. He also enjoyed doing woodworking projects including corn hole boards, furniture, and flag boxes for the veterans. Harry was a kind man and a family man who loved his whole family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wed. Nov. 10, 2021, at the Eley funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Josh Goss officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive family and friends 11 a.m. until the time of service, Wed. at the funeral home.
