James Arlen “Jim” McCullough, 86, of New Knoxville, died 10:45 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2021, at Brookdale of Troy, Ohio. He was born September 22, 1934, in Kossuth, Ohio, the son of Kermit, Sr. & Arvilla (Morris) McCullough, who preceded him in death. On April 12, 1958, he married Nancy L. Headapohl, and she died April 28, 1999. Survivors include, daughters, Susan (Kyle-dec) Whitaker, Englewood, Ohio, Linda Walker-dec, Patricia (Steve Hope) McCullough, Vero Beach, FL, grandchildren, Amy Meyer, Kelly Shartzer, Christopher (Dustin Reigel) McCullough, Jasmine Walker, great grandchildren, Sebastian, Croix, Magdalene, Brielle Monnin, Chloe Webb, Gideon Shartzer, and one on the way, siblings, Don (Rita) McCullough, Paul (Barb) McCullough, both of New Knoxville, Connie (Bob) Sutton, Buckland, Joann (Bill-dec) Dull, Sarasota, FL, Kermit, Jr.-dec (Carol) McCullough, New Knoxville. Jim retired in 1995 as a machinist with Goodyear, St. Marys. He was a member of the New Knoxville United Methodist Church, and 1952 graduate of New Knoxville High School. Jim was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta, and the Buckeye Farm Antiques. He enjoyed going to the Truck Stop, coon hunting, fishing, woodworking, and playing practical jokes on his co-workers and friends. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Ed Rinehart officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive family and friends 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Miami County Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Foundation. In keeping with current health guidelines, masks and distancing are required.
