Jerome L. Snyder

November 4, 1943 - December 8, 2021

Jerome (Jerry) L Snyder was received into the loving arms of his Savior and healed perfectly on December 8, 20021 after a courageous battle with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. In addition, Jerry was suffering from accelerated health challenges these last several years. GOD saw that Jerry was getting tired and a cure was not yet to be; so. HE put HIS arms around him and whispered, “Come with ME”, and Jerry was immediately healed. Jerry was born November 4, 1943, in Plymouth, Indiana. He was the son of Gordon E. Snyder and Clara F. Altheide Snyder. He received his education at Plymouth High School, class of 1962 and Porter Business College, Indianapolis IN. On October 19, 1974, Jerry married the love of his life, Kathie L Crocker Snyder at the First Methodist Church in South Bend IN. Jerry worked for 37 years in the Steel Service Center Industry. He worked 16 years in Ft Wayne, IN in operations and as General Manager and 21 years as Branch Manager in Lima, Ohio. Jerry’s motto in life was “pay it forward without fanfare” Jerry enjoyed his five grandchildren, Olivia, Luke, Annabelle, Jacob, and Nathan, his dog Sam, Chicago Cubs & Bears, Cleveland Cavaliers & Indians & Browns, Cincinnati Reds, & Indianapolis Colts. He particularly treasured the times traveling with Kathie. They both loved spending time in Ft Wayne, Indianapolis, Arizona, Southern CA, Concord & Kannapolis NC, & short rides to …… wherever they ended up! Jerry is survived by two sons & one daughter: Gordon J Snyder, Orlando, FL, Jason A (Rachel) Snyder, Loudonville, Ohio & Tia M. (Robert) Shoemaker, Lima Ohio. Preceding Jerry in death was his beloved wife Kathie, his parents, childhood friend Arnold R Tapp, his sisters, Rose Mary Snyder Horn, Daisy Snyder Stoneburner, Iris Snyder & two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Horn & Cecil Stoneburner. Private family services will be held at the Eley funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Ohio, with his son, Pastor Jason Snyder officiating. Burial is to be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family requests that contributions in Jerry’s name be made to the local Heart, Diabetes and/or The Cancer Foundation.
