John B. "Johnny" Spencer

John B. “Johnny” Spencer, 86, of Wapakoneta, passed away to eternal life on July 13, 2021, at Wapakoneta Manor. He was born December 29, 1934, in Stove, WV, the son of Golden & Kathleen (Hardy) Spencer, who preceded him in death. On June 6, 1960, he married the love of his life, Reba Terry, and she survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Sandy (Tim) Homan, Johnny (Bridgett) Spencer, and David Spencer, a grandson, Brett King, and 2 great grandchildren, Deagen and Lilli. He is survived by a brother, Sammy Spencer, and a sister, Mary Morton. Johnny was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Barry King, and a brother, Charles Ray Spencer. In his younger years, Johnny traveled and explored the Midland states, often by foot. One of his favorite places he landed at was working at the White Castle in Columbus, OH. He retired from the Wapakoneta Machine Co. after many years of hard work and dedication. He enjoyed attending the Victory Center Church of God, singing in the choir, spending time with his family and pets. He also enjoyed bird watching. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Bill Prater officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive family and friends 5-8 p.m., Saturday, and 1 hr. prior to the service, Sunday, at the funeral home.
