Larry Leo Steinke Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Larry L. Steinke, 79, of Botkins, OH went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 21, 2022, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. OH. He was born Sept. 14, 1942, in Botkins, OH, the son of Alonzo C. & Bertha M. (Schneider) Steinke. On April 4, 1964, he married Sharon (Oen) Steinke, and she survives. Other survivors include, children, Angela (Mike McMahon) Locker, Anetia (Dennis) Nietz, Amy (Tim) Kraft, Deborah (Mark) Bianchi, Dennis Steinke, Diane (Patrick) Hoehne, Chad (Nancy) Steinke, Craig (Amy) Steinke, Carl (Katie) Steinke, Benji (Patty) Steinke, Barry (Heather) Steinke; 35 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Dean (Mary Jane) Steinke. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Alice (Victor) Schmerge. A 1960 graduate of Botkins High School, Larry was employed by the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Plant, Lima, OH for many years. He was also owner and operator of the Steinke Stain & Finish. He was a lifelong parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins. Larry served his community as a member of the Botkins Volunteer Fire Department, the Botkins Police Department, and as a deputy with the Shelby Co. Sheriffs Dept. He was a Boy Scout leader, and member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and relaxing at Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Mon. June 27, 2022, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with Fr. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins. The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m., Sun. June 26, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
