Marilyn D. Blackburn

May 15, 1926 - January 11, 2019

Marilyn D. Blackburn, 92, of rural Wapakoneta, died 8:41 p.m., Fri. Jan. 11, 2019, at Auglaize Acres. She was born May 15, 1926, in Moulton Twp., Auglaize Co., the daughter of Norman & Olga (Nuesmeyer) McCormick, who preceded her in death. On June 16, 1945, she married Gail Blackburn, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1992. Survivors include, 4 children, Sheryl (Bill) Miller, Debra (Jerry) Sommerville, David (Diane) Blackburn, & Beth (Ron) Duval, all of Wapakoneta, grandchildren, Tammy (Kyle) Frische, Todd Miller, Tricia (Greg) Yahl, Jenni (Shawn) Egbert, Bryan (Sara) Rain, Amanda Blackburn, Andrea (Adam) Graves, Alyssa (Ryan) Dolan, Ryan (Franchesca) Duval, Krista Duval & Paul Tomcho, Gericke (Matt) Cook, and Kara (John) Higney, great grandchildren, Keith Frische, Karissa Frische, Sarah Miller, Miranda Miller, Joshua Miller, Allie Yahl, Shelbie Egbert & Aaron Evans, Madison Lammers, Caitlin Lammers, Brynn Egbert, Aiden Rain, Emmy Rain, Lucas Graves, Tyler Graves, Trinity Duval, Caspian Duval, step-great grandchildren, Jasper Cook, Fitz Cook, Clayton Barnes, & Skylar Higney, step-great great granddaughters, Adallie Egbert and Norrah Evans, siblings, Dick (Jackie) McCormick, Wapakoneta, Carmen (Larry) Dardio, Wapakoneta, & Arlene (Jim) Roser, Westerville, OH. A homemaker, Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, and the Ruth Circle of the church. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and was a 1944 graduate of Blume High School. Marilyn enjoyed painting, gardening, and playing cards. However, she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren & family. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Mon. Jan. 14, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, OH. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m., until time of service, Mon. at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are being conducted by the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, Wapakoneta, where condolences may be expressed at www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.
