Mary Christina "Chris" McClintock

Mary Christina “Chris” McClintock, 73, of Wapakoneta, died 2:38 p.m., Wed. Dec. 9, 2020, at Kindred Hospital, Dayton, OH. She was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Lima, the daughter, of Louis E. & Vera Louise (Fair) Haehn, who preceded her in death. On May 1, 1965, she married Stephen A. “Steve” McClintock, and he survives. Other survivors include, 4 children, Alan J. McClintock, Wapakoneta, Brenda A. McClintock, Orlando, FL, Kalene “Kasey” M. (Mike) Schmitz, Ft. Recovery, OH, Sean D. (Lisa Traxler) McClintock, Portland, OR, 7 grandchildren, Jay (Heather) Ferguson, Sara (Tony) Alleman, Alison (Tyler) Richmond, Tyler Finke, Kaitlin (Dakota) Wright, Jerred Dominguez, Finnegan McClintock, 10 great grandchildren, siblings, Lynda Schaub, Joan (Jim) Hepp, Lou Haehn, Janice Longsworth, Mick (Kathy) Haehn, Ginger (Lynn) Fox, Becky (Russ) Schoffner, Vicky (Mark) Mace, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Haehn, by brothers-in-law, Ed Schaub and Larry Longsworth, by sister-in-law, Judy Haehn, and by daughter-in-law, Nancy Jo (Carpenter) McClintock. Chris was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph High School and worked as office manager at Haehn Florist, Wapakoneta. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul. Chris served as president of the Soroptimist Club and the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce. She also served on the Wapakoneta City Tree Commission, and was secretary of the Wapakoneta Fire Dept. Ladies’ Auxiliary. Chris turned her love of beading and knitting into a small business making handcrafted jewelry, purses, and other beautiful works of art. Chris’s hobbies included baking, flower arranging, antiquing, boating, and traveling. She also greatly enjoyed genealogy, which through her research, allowed her to connect with and pass on her collected knowledge to many distant relatives. Chris, along with her husband, Steve, spent several years traveling the waterways and highways of the United States, first living on their boat and then traveling via motorhome. The last few years, she enjoyed being a snowbird. However, what especially brought her joy was the time spent with family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Mon. Dec. 14, 2020, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive family and friends 2-5 p.m., Sun. at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
