Ruth A. Hunt

Ruth A. Hunt, 84, of Wapakoneta, died 12:51 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2022, at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born September 16, 1937, in Fostoria, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nicholas & Cecelia (Temple) Ardner. On May 7, 1960, she married Fred D. Hunt, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1992. Survivors include, 3 children, Michelle (Jerry) Pitchford, Wapakoneta, Christopher (Shelley-deceased) Hunt, Heartland, Texas, Michael (Tracy) Hunt, Marysville, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Ross Pitchford, Andrew Hunt, Samantha Hunt, Carter Hunt; 2 sisters–in–law, Phyllis Ardner, Joanne Ardner; In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by siblings and spouses, Paul Ardner, Robert Ardner, Catherine (Forest) Slater, Rita (K) Speelman, Viola (Howard) Stultz. Ruth worked as a typist at the Wapakoneta Daily News. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and a graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria, Ohio. Her hobbies included bridge club, golfing, and neighborhood gatherings. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Friday, January 21, 2022 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jedidiah Tritle officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Long & Folk Chapel of Eley Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 13 South Blackhoof Street, Wapakoneta.
