Venard J. Fisher, 86, of rural Wapakoneta, died 7:00 p.m., Thurs. Dec. 10, 2020, at his home with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 23, 1934, in Auglaize Co., the son of Clarence & Veronica (Scheblo) Fisher, who preceded him in death. On April 24, 1992, he married Cynthia A. Stegeman, and she survives. Other survivors include, a brother, Kenneth J. & Patty Fisher, FL, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Laverne Fisher, Wapakoneta, Ray & Susan Kohler, Wapakoneta, David & Amy Skinner, Botkins, Bill Stegeman, Pemberton, OH, several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Fisher, sister-in-law, Pamela Carr, and 2 brothers-in-law, Tom Carr and Charles Fyke. A lifelong farmer, Venard worked at Stinebaugh Construction and Steinke Concrete Co, Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, and the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed raising black faced sheep and working puzzles. A private family funeral mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with Rev. Jedidiah Tritle officiating. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Botkins Community Scholarship Fund, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
