Carole Sue Brandstadt

Carole Sue (Richardson) Brandstadt, received her angel wings on May 8th, 2016. Carole was born to Ralph B and Betty Mae (Armstrong) Richardson, both deceased. She was blessed with a loving step-father, Frederick (Fritz) L. Kolter. also deceased. She married William J. Brandstadt in 1982 and he passed away in 2003. Carole graduated from Wapakoneta Senior High School in 1960 and from a private secretarial course from Columbus Business University in 1962. She worked at the Ohio Bureau of Unemployment Compensation, then she left the work force to raise two daughters from a first marriage. She returned to the work force in 1976 in Lima, Ohio at McKee Tool & Supply and began a 32-year career in industrial distribution, retiring from Paragon Service & Supply in 2008. Carole dedicated her life to being a mother, Sunday School Teacher, Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, school field trip chaperone, birthday cake decorator, 4-H Mom, cookie baker, friend, caregiver and an amazing bedtime story reader. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ. Carole was also an avid member of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts and enjoyed the time she spent working on projects with her “Mini Friends”. She especially loved hanging out with her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing games, basketball, vacationing and helping build Lego projects. Carole is survived by brothers, Ralph (Judy) Richardson (Elida), and Rick (Kathy) Kolter (Fremont, Nebraska), and sister, Barbara (Bill) Durham (Crowley, Texas); daughters, Tara Lynn (Jeff) Bishop (Grove City, Ohio); Melissa D Richardson (Troy Booth), Ware, Massachusetts; Step Children Jeffrey (Michelle) Brandstadt (Utica, NY); David (Chris) Brandstadt (Marathon, NY); Jill (Tommy) Tilden (Carrolton, Texas); 8 grandchildren, Joshua Slaven, Keri (Chris) Bull, Max, Sam, Zach and Adam Brandstadt, Stephanie and Ben Tilden and 3 great-grandchildren, Erik, Harlie and Quinn Bull. The family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for beloved friend and neighbor, Kim Sadler and Dana, Justine, Sheila and Jennifer at Community Health Professionals - Hospice for their unwavering support and assistance.
