Emma Jean Severt

Emma Jean (Lauth) Severt, 81, of Wapakoneta, died 9:58 p.m., Thurs. Dec. 28, 2107, at Mercy Health- St. Rita’s, Lima, following a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 5, 1936, in St. Marys, OH, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Counts) Lauth. On April 23, 1982, she married David U. Severt, and he survives. Other survivors include, 3 step-children, Steven J. (Patricia) Severt, Katherine (Gregory) Link, Timothy (Lyn) Severt, all of Wapakoneta, 7 grandchildren, John Severt, Elizabeth Severt, Jeanette (Zachery) Dripps, Brittany Duff, Nicholas (Kelly) Duff, Bradley Severt, & Lucas Severt 6 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Lucia, Gianna, Kolbe & Eliza Dripps; & Briella Duff, 3 brothers, Harold Lauth, Jim and Marilyn (Leffel) Lauth, & Ronald and Marilyn Lauth sisters-in-law, Doris (Schallenberg) Lauth, Sarah Dotson, brother-in-law Fred Shawhan, step-siblings: Barbara Steiner, Jim & Joyce Hebble, and Dave & Carolyn Hebble. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law & father-in-law, Adolph and Theresa Severt; step-parents, Florence and Lauren Hebble; siblings and spouses, Leona and Raymond McPheron, Doris and Karl Tinnerman, Betty and Richard McClintock, Robert and Lila (Leffel) Lauth, Martha (Heil) Lauth, Anna and Lawrence M. Axe, William Lauth, Mary Catherine Lauth, Jean Ann Coneby; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roman and MaryAnn Severt, Larry and Edna Greve, Jim and Madella Schnippel, Bob and Loretta Westerheide, Wayne Dotson, and Rosemary Shawhan, John Steiner. Emma retired in 1988 after 31 years of service with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. Emma’s hobbies included camping, crafts, baking, and family activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thurs. Jan. 4, 2018, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m., Wed. Jan. 3, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
