Gloria Mae Manger

Gloria Mae Manger, 85, of Botkins, passed away 3:07 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen, with her loving family at her side. She was born November 20, 1940, in Shelby Co., OH, the daughter of the late Robert and Violet (Miller) Tidd. On November 28, 1959, she married LeRoy N. Manger and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2001. Survivors include, children, Steven LeRoy Manger (Deceased), Keith & Lisa (Hirschfeld) Manger, Kurt & Rita (Sheipline) Manger, Becky & Tim Hoelscher, Kevin & Kim (Bevins)Manger, Christina & Mike Richard, Cheryl & Dave Kinnison, Teresa Cundiff, Michele Manger & Jason Ruwoldt, Scott & Raina (Schenck) Manger; 30 grandchildren, Kyle Manger, Chad Manger, Brandon Manger, Erin Heitkamp, Brittney Smith, Heather Lengerich, Nicholas Hoelscher, Steffani Billing, Craig Manger, Parker Manger, Blake Richard (deceased), Dylan Kinnison, Leah Winner, Carson Manger, Paige Wuebker, Megan Smith, Savanna Manger, Macey Richard, Amber Bockrath, Morgan Cundiff, Sierra Young, Claire Young, Taylor Cundiff, Hannah Cundiff, Payton Manger, Bryson Manger, Andrew Manger, Cohen Brown, Matt Fritz, Amanda Fritz; 43 great grandchildren, Siblings Jack & Margaret Tidd (Deceased) Robert & Barbara Tidd (Deceased) Cynthia (Deceased) & Larry Judy Karen Levi, Rick Tidd (Deceased) Paul Tidd (Deceased), Ronald Tidd, Sue & Ray (Deceased) Davis. Gloria was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply. Her life was a beautiful example of faith, kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins, Gloria lived her faith through her daily actions, always putting others before herself and extending grace and compassion to everyone she met. Gloria was the proud and loving mother of ten children, grandmother of thirty grandchildren, and great-grandmother of forty-three great-grandchildren. Family was the greatest joy of her life. She treasured every opportunity to stay connected, whether through a phone call, a text message, a visit, or by attending or listening to the sporting events and activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her encouragement, support, and presence were gifts which will forever be cherished. Throughout the years, Gloria worked in the cafeteria at Botkins Local Schools, at Norcold, Curley's Market, and in various jobs she could do at home with her family. Gloria's home was a gathering place filled with warmth, laughter, and welcome. She loved playing games with anyone who stopped by and would gladly set aside whatever she was doing to spend time visiting. No one ever left her home hungry; she always had food ready to offer and a listening ear to share. Her door was always open, and so was her heart. She will be fondly remembered for her candy jars, baking, sewing, and countless thoughtful acts of kindness. Gloria had a special way of making everyone feel loved, valued, and at home. She constantly thought of others first and found her greatest happiness in caring for those around her. To know Gloria was to love her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with Fr. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23rd and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
