James R. Tester

James R. Tester, 75, of rural Wapakoneta, died 1:20 p.m. , Tues., Feb. 26, 2008 , at St. Rita's Medical Center , Lima .� He was born June 8, 1932 , in Moulton , OH , the son of Carl & Clara (Nussmeyer) Tester, who preceded him in death.� On Feb. 11, 1978 , he married Nancy (Wirick) Koch and she survives.����������� He is also survived by his son, �David (Natalie) Tester, Spencerville, and 2 sons, Robert (Dana) Koch, and Mark (Shelley) Koch, both of Wapakoneta, 8 grandchildren, Kristin Tester, Jimmy (Tamara) Tester, Caleb Koch, Amanda Koch, Hannah Koch, Alex Koch, Jarrett Koch & Matthew Koch, all of Wapakoneta, 4 step-grandchildren, Taime & Casey Scheithauer, Spencerville, Chad Zink & Laine Muston, Wapakoneta, a great grandson, and 3 step-greatgrandchildren, a sister-in-law, Sue (Carl) Geis, Botkins, a sister-in-law, Clara Tester, Wapakoneta, and many nieces & nephews.He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ronald & Gerald Tester, 2 sisters, Helen Link & Evelyn Schrolucke, 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Tester & Helen Tester, and 2 brothers-in-law, Virgil Link & Harold Schrolucke.����������� Mr. Tester attended Blume High School and was a medic in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.� Jim worked at Wapak Sand and Gravel, and after 20 years retired as a self employed water well driller.� He also served as a Pusheta Twp. Trustee for 18 years.� He was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, where he had a special "little girlfriend", 2 year old Kieran Goudy.� He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting.� Most of all he enjoyed visiting family and friends and attending the activities of his grandchildren.� He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.����������� Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Sat., March 1, 2008 , at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church , 302 E. Pearl St. , Wapakoneta, Pastor Tom Schutt officiating.� Burial is to follow in the St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, Clay Twp., where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W.� The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Fri., at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 1 hr. prior to the service, Sat., at the church.� Memorials may be directed to WTGN or WBCL Christian Radio, or the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Window Fund.
