Pauline A. Krites

Pauline A. Krites, 87, of rural Wapakoneta, died 10:14 a.m., Fri. Dec, 16, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System, with her family at her side. She was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Pusheta Twp., Auglaize Co., the daughter of the late John and Marie (Mann) Koch. On Aug. 11, 1956, she married Don R. Krites, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2020. Survivors include, 6 children, Kevin (Cheryl) Krites, of Leavenworth, Kansas, and their children Chad Krites, Phillip Krites, Tiffany (Kelly) Krites, Christina Drennan, Lee Drennan, Heather Drennan; Kendall (Susan) Krites, of Wapakoneta, and their children, Jennifer (Cory) Brown, Alicia (Alan) Staley; Keith (Darla) Krites, of Wapakoneta, and their children, Virginia (Robert) Payne, Jeffrey Krites; Richard (Barb) Krites, of Wapakoneta, and their children, Ryan and Austin Krites; Rhonda (Don) Freisthler, of Botkins, and their children, Joshua Freisthler, Jacob Freisthler (dec); Randy (Amy) Krites, of Anna, and their children, Justin, Audrey, Joseph Krites; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Jacob L. Freisthler and SkyAnn Derringer, a great granddaughter, Brooklynn Brown, and a brother, Roland Koch as well as numerous brother and sister in-laws. Pauline was a homemaker, teacher, and farm wife. A 1953 graduate of Botkins Local High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She went on to Capital University where she earned a degree in education and taught at Botkins Schools until her and Don started a family. During and after those years of raising six children she worked numerous jobs including the Wapak Post Office and Salem United Methodist Church Pre-school. She was a very active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Clay Twp., and a member of the Ladies Circle. She also served on church council for many years, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and taught catechism. Pauline was 4-H advisor with the Fryburg Happy Famers, and volunteered with the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed gardening, canning, family get-togethers and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thurs. Dec. 22, 2022, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Clay Twp., with Pastor Cheryl Sieganthaler officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Mark Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Wed. Dec. 21, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 1 hr. prior to the service, Thurs. at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
